Art Program _________________________________ 2019-2020
First Grade Art
The Students will be involved in a variety of standards based art lessons. They will be introduced to a variety of art media throughout the course of the school year. These lessons will often overlap and reinforce ideas and concepts that they are learning about in their classrooms as well as build upon art experiences from years previous. They will also learn how to properly use and care for art supplies and materials. The students will be challenged to become more independent and creative thinkers and learners. They will also be encouraged to appreciate and discuss their own artwork and the artwork of others. Examples of projects may include: learning how to draw simple objects in a realistic way using line and shape, and creating Kookie Spookie Pumpkin Collages.
